Powerful Powerball

Powerball began in 1992 in the USA; it was the first Lotto game to use the two drum feature to randomly choose the winning numbers. These days’ two drums are a common site on most Lotto games from the UK’s Thunderball to Euromillions and Mega millions.

What you need to know…

On Wednesday and Saturday evenings 69 white balls and 26 red balls spin in separate drums tempting your lucky numbers out. The Powerball Jackpot is won when you match 5 white balls in any order and 1 red Powerball.

Two Payment Options

When you win the jackpot you have the option to choose the following payment options:

  • Cash lump sum payment for the total amount of your winnings.
  • Annual Payments – 1st payment on your win and 29 further payments, giving you a tasty income every year!

If you choose annual payments, interest of up to 5% is paid each year to cover any increases in the cost of living. Whatever you decide, winning the Powerball Jackpot will set you up, literally for life!

When you purchase your Powerball ticket, don’t forget to add on the Power Play option for an extra   $1. It means a larger prize if you don’t win the jackpot.

With Powerball and Power Play combined match 5 balls and the winning jackpot can reach $2 million, paid in one lump sum payment to the lucky person holding the ticket.

For lower monetary value prizes below 5 matches, the amount won will be multiplied by an additional number drawn, by either 2X, 3X, 4X or 5X. Bigger prizes for less matches are a distinct possibility when you combine Powerball and Powerplay.
